Art Club’s Amazing Artist Experience!

Burton and Harry

Over the past few weeks in Art Club we have had a visiting called Bob. He has been helping us with our biodiversity project. I bet you’re wondering what biodiversity means… Well biodiversity means the range of living things in an environment, in theis case, Chorlton Park. To get us started we drew our favourite animal in nature. We also drew a made up animal from our imagination that could live in the park

In the next stage of our project we split into two groups. One created recycled papermache park animals that were painted in the final week. The second group worked on a large canvas of thepark with animals around the border, using a mixture of acrylic and waterbased paint.

Finall we painted bird boxes which will be put up in the park to provide nests for birds and animals.

Harry said “This project represents Art Club, it is the best thing we have ever done!” We would like to thank Bob, Miss Etchells and Mrs Wood for the opportunity to do such an amazing project.

All member of Art Club have added a comment below to explain what amazing craetions they made as part of this project.

Here is some fantastic photos of our finished project… (If you want to see a little more click one of the photos for some close-ups!)

When Bob came we painted a very large painting of the park. It was messy but fun, we really enjoyed it!

When Bob came to Art Club he told us about flowers and animals in the park. We drew some of them and I drew a robin. I also made a bird I made it out of scrap and cardboard with a plastic lid on top. I thought the one thing that was really good was making the birdbox.

When the artist Bob came into school, Art Club talked about the animals and nature in Chorlton Park. After that we drew our favourite animals (Salma drew a dolphin and Clare drew a hedgehog) The week after Bob brought in some things that couldn’t be recycled and we made some animals, we made a hedgehog called Ellie. We used a plastic sheet for the ground and cardboard and different materials for her spikes. We added polystyrene balls for her ears, cut up cd for her eyes and a little cake tin for her mouth.

Later we painted a spotty green bird house. We likeed making Ellie and talking all the way through Art Club!

When Bob came we made a fox. The fox is made from an egg box, wire and paint. After that we added papermache and painted it. The paints were orange and we added a tail from a wrapper. We really liked Bob, our favourire bit was when we made our imaginary insects.

At Art Club we decorated some wooden birdboxes. First we painted part of the bird box a nice ready brown then we started to put some blue berries on the slanted roof. We thought we shoudl check round the sides to see if there were any gaps. At the top of the birdbox we put some green leaves as well as brown branches.

When Bob first came we talked about the animals and trees in Chorlton Park. The next week we talked about birds and me and some other people painted a Chorlton Park portrait. I enjoyed painting the park and meeting Bob!

We made a slug when bob came to teach us. First he showed us how to draw animals, then how to make a model. We made a slug and added papermache and paint. Finally we painted a birdhouse with Bob and we put our name on the bottom.

When Bob came to Art Club we made a model of a butterfly, we used things that could not be recycled like, bubblewrap and wire. We decoreated it with paint and papermache to make it more 3D

Bob brought in some bird boxes for us to paint, we had to paint them in natural colours so the birds would live there. The park warden is going to put them up in our park.
